About Valerie Kang

I’m a certified Special Education Instructor and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) specializing in autism, executive functioning, and behavior analysis. I am also a certified ADHD educator (ADHD-CE).

I am data-driven and student-centered with over ten years of experience supporting young people in reaching new heights. I specialize in working with students with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I speak English, Korean, and Malay fluently. My specialty includes working with preschoolers and teens with autism and ADHD.

For PreK students, I have specific experience replacing repetitive behaviors with more functional communication. In the school setting, I have been a lead teacher in general education as well as integrated and special classes in preschools. In the classroom, I focus on promoting age-appropriate play skills and listener-responding skills. I also have years of experience in supervising behavior therapists in their delivery of ABA services. My approach to working with youth includes collaborating with them from the start by incorporating their wishes into our work together while providing frequent structured feedback to both students and parents. We work on planning, setting individual goals, and improving adaptive living skills (hygiene, room organization support, and clean-healthy eating habits).

I am a PETS vendor and approved SETSS provider for New York City Public Schools.  I also take private cases.
